🧺 What You’ll Need:

  • Bite-sized treats your pet loves (or toy for a healthier option)

  • Clicker (optional for clicker training)

  • Quiet space without distractions

  • A calm, patient attitude 😊

Goal: Help your pet move into a lying-down position on command.

Steps:

  1. Begin with your pet in a sitting position.

  2. Hold a treat near their nose, then slowly lower your hand toward the ground between their front paws.

  3. As they follow the treat, slowly pull your hand out and away so their body stretches and they naturally lie down.

  4. The moment their elbows touch the ground, say “Down”, then reward and praise.

  5. Repeat until they start to associate the movement and word.

Tip: If your pet won’t lie down, try under a table or leg (small space) to encourage the posture.

Training Tips:

  • Short sessions (5–10 minutes max) keep it fun and prevent boredom.

  • Practice 3–5 times per day with breaks in between.

  • End every session on a win—even a small success!

  • Use clear, consistent command words.

  • Fade out treats over time, but always keep verbal praise.
